Dr. Lora Johnson, M.D., is a board-certified family medicine physician joining DMA in September 2025. Having immigrated from Russia as a child, she grew up in Oklahoma and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. As an undergraduate, Dr. Johnson participated in medical mission trips to Belize and Ghana, where she assisted in providing healthcare and clean drinking water to underserved populations. She received her MD from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and spent several years coordinating clinical trials for breast cancer treatments at the Stephenson Cancer Center in Oklahoma City, OK, prior to completing her family medicine residency at the Texas A&M College of Medicine in Victoria, TX via the DeTar Healthcare System.
Dr. Johnson has experience in a variety of adult and pediatric medical settings, including chronic care, inpatient medicine, urgent care, and correctional medicine. After moving to Tennessee with her family in 2021, she has served as medical director of South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton, TN, for the past three years. Dr. Johnson is passionate about preventative care and patient education, with the goal of empowering her patients to make sustainable health choices. She enjoys building lasting relationships with patients, caring for diverse populations, managing a wide range of medical conditions, and practicing the best evidence-based medicine possible.
In her free time, Dr. Johnson loves spending time with her husband, Joe, and their two young children, Drex and Adelaide. She enjoys traveling, reading, family outings, and outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and swimming.

Waited hours, was not helpful feeling medications and got upset over it, need to provide any help to the problem.
Ms Johnson was attentive; she ordered labs as requested, also referred me to other specialist as she saw was recommended. The wait time severely surprised me, we spent about 30 minutes together while I was waiting the other 2 hours
