Dr. Loan Ramsey, M.D. F.A.C.S.

Dr. Loan Ramsey, M.D., specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease. Dr. Ramsey has performed over 10,000 surgical procedures in her career. Her surgical expertise includes; advanced cataract surgery, laser-assisted cataract surgery and premium IOL’s. Dr. Ramsey is proficient on both the WaveLight and VISX platforms for LASIK and PRK. She performs ICL and was the first in the DFW area and 5th in the nation to implant the Toric ICL. Additionally, Dr. Ramsey offers micro and minimally invasive surgical glaucoma treatments. She has been a Board-Certified surgeon since 2007.

While attending Loyola University in New Orleans, LA, Dr. Ramsey received her BS in chemistry. She then received her MD in 2002 from Louisiana State University Health Science Center and immediately following, completed her internship at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Ramsey moved to Texas in 2003 to officially begin her career in ophthalmology and completed her Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. After completing her residency, Dr. Ramsey moved to New York, earning a fellowship in glaucoma at Mount Sinai Medical Center. After completing her fellowship, Dr. Ramsey continued to practice in New York for an additional five years. During that time, she also volunteered her expertise in Asia.

In 2015, Dr. Ramsey took an opportunity to join Swagel Wootton’s affiliated practice in DFW, Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers of Texas. Kleiman Evangelista is an industry leading clinic in Texas with a 37-year legacy in the greater DFW area. In addition to her surgical service offerings, Dr. Ramsey served as the Medical Director of Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers during her time there.

An opportunity to relocate to Arizona and practice with Swagel Wootton Eye Institute prompted Dr. Ramsey to join our team in 2019. Here, Dr. Ramsey serves as the Medical Director and lead surgeon, continuing over half a century of superior eye care.
