First time at this office. I liked the staff.
Dr Gerson took the time to go over my medical history. While talking to Dr Gerson, I mentioned that some medical professionals feel it’s not necessary to have a colonoscopy after a certain age.
She totally disagrees with this.
“It’s just a number “.
Paraphrasing…. You need to take care of yourself. Your health matters.

Dr. Leigh Gerson, D.O., is a colorectal surgeon with significant experience in minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery. She focuses on a range of colon and rectal problems, from benign conditions, such as hemorrhoids, incontinence, and diverticulitis, to cancer. She also performs colonoscopies and other diagnostic procedures.
Dr. Gerson is mindful that much of her work involves a potentially sensitive area of the body. She takes time to answer questions so those in her care can be comfortable with their treatment. By listening carefully and celebrating successful outcomes — whether simple or life-changing — she helps treat the whole person, not just their disease.
After studying biomedical engineering at Cornell, Dr. Gerson went on to earn her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has completed fellowships in colon and rectal surgery and minimally invasive surgery, and is board-certified in surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Gerson likes to knit and enjoys camping and traveling with her spouse and children.
