Dr. Leah Macklin, D.O., grew up in Dunwoody, Georgia, and obtained her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in chemistry from Georgia State University. She attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM-GA) and completed her residency in family medicine in Fayetteville, North Carolina. For anyone unfamiliar, D.O. stands for Doctor of Osteopathy, which in practice is the same as a Medical Doctor (MD) as they share the same residencies and require the same board-certifications. D.O.’s practice more holistically and can perform a therapeutic technique called osteopathic manipulation.
