Dr. Leah Janousek, O.D, who was previously Dr. Nolander, attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE for her undergraduate studies and graduated magna cum laude to receive a B.A. in Psychology. She then obtained her optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, IN, where she graduated with honors. During her time there, she completed clinical externship specializing in ocular disease and primary eye care at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL.

Following her optometric education, Dr. Janousek completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive and Ocular Surgery at the Eye Center of Texas in Houston, TX.
Dr. Janousek finally made her way back home to Arizona in 2018, and joined the Swagel Wootton family in 2020. She provides comprehensive eye care, including emergency eye care, contact lenses, ocular disease management, and pre- and post-operative co-management. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a member of the Arizona Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Janousek enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Bandit, as well as staying active with yoga, cycling, and hiking.
Had my post-op today for my second cataract eye surgery with Dr. Janousek and she was very reassuring and made me feel very confident that I am doing great. I was nervous going into this but it has been a very positive experience.
