Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Lawrence Weiss received his Bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and completed his medical school education at UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. His residency training in orthopaedic surgery was completed at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, where he continued his fellowship training in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery.
He has extensive experience in hand and microvascular surgery as well as complex wrist and elbow reconstruction. His expertise has led to numerous scientific publications and he has given presentations on various subjects regarding hand, wrist, and elbow surgery.
Dr. Weiss has served in multiple academic roles and is faculty with the prestigious AO-North American Hand Group. He serves as the Chief, Division of Hand Surgery, at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Trauma Center.
In his spare time, Dr. Weiss enjoys running and road biking, as well as spending time with his family.

Great doctor I would recommend him he did a great job on My elbow surgery
I felt very comfortable with Dr. Weiss and He explained everything very clearly and made sure I understood everything he was instructing.

Dr. Weiss, was very thorough, kind and helpful. He was easy to talk to and cared about my condition. I would recommend him highly.
Dr. Weiss is very professional and, after examining my hand/finger, thoroughly explained the problem and the recommended treatment - physical therapy. He referred me to a PT close to my home, which is shot 45 miles from his office in Allentown. I would definitely recommend Dr. Weiss.
He is always good with my mom who is 95 and requires a lot patience on his part We are grateful for him
The doctor was fine, but if an emergency appt arises, the office staff should contact the other patients to advise that their appt will be late. Emergencies arise, I would love the same courtesy, but maybe advise people that it may be a while and they can get lunch or something so that their sugar doesn't drop too low. Otherwise, I have no complaints. Thank you. It isn't the doctors fault, but a courtesy to advise a head of time would be welcome when running late.
Dr Weiss is simply the BEST. Have seen him many times over the years. Not only top doctor but great personality. Always leave knowing I've been given the best treatment whether surgical or non-surgical.

I won’t see any other hand doctor besides Dr Weiss.
