Had good bedside manner, but really just didn't listen to me at all. Ive been suffering for 3 years now from an antibiotic and its ruined my life. I waited 2 months for this appointment with the small speck of hope I might finally meet a doctor who cares enough to take initiative and try to help me prevent further health issues and get my life back.
When I brought up past testing he said he would have to have “see it himself” but I do believe he had access to the test I was speaking about and didn’t just take the time look it up.
When I brought up why I cannot take other medications for my condition because of my kidney disease and the budesonide causing adrenal insufficiency which I confirmed with cortisol tests (There is also a PubMed article titled “Budesonide related Adrenal insufficiency”) it was dismissed as me “feeling that way” as well as “anxiety.”
Yes Im nervous because I waited 2 months for this appointment and over time my health has degraded from lack of a diagnosis

Dr. Lawrence J. Born M.D., F.A.C.P., is an active staff member in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He has performed more than 30,000 endoscopies. Dr. Born received his medical degree from Indiana University and trained in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Liver Study Unit in Omaha. Prior to his current position, he was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Born is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. His research interests have ranged from the ubiquitin proteolytic system to endoscopy and colorectal cancer, authoring numerous scientific manuscripts and abstracts. Dr. Born has been funded in the past by the National Institutes of Health and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has served on several university and hospital committees including Medical Director of the Digestive Health Center at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis. On a personal level, Dr. Born has been involved from the beginning in the Nobel Peace Prize nominated partnership between Moi University and Indiana University for the care of patients in Kenya. He set up an endoscopy suite and also initiated an anti-malaria program that is distributing 40,000 bed nets in west Kenya. Also, Dr. Born has coached numerous city and state champion runners and is a past USA Track and Field Indiana Masters Champion.
