Dr. Harris performs corneal transplants, cataract surgery, removal of pre-cancerous and cancerous growths as well as many other surgical procedures on the eye. Cornea transplants can be full or partial thickness and different surgical skills are required for each type. Dr. Harris also performs LASIK, another procedure in which she can restore sight and dramatically improve her patient’s vision. Additionally, she sees patients from the InterFaith Clinic and Knoxville Area Project Access, as being able to make a difference in the lives of those in need is a benefit of ophthalmology that she cherishes and holds dear to her heart.
Practicing amongst the breathtaking Smoky Mountains allows Dr. Lauren Harris to explore her passions outside of patient care. Having a proclivity towards staying active, in her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, water skiing, wake surfing, snowboarding, and traveling.
Education and Certif
Great doctor who is saving my vision!
She is very thorough. Explains everything in detail. My only complaint is I wish there was a closer center for us
Really cares about her patience.
Informative. Thorough exam and presentation of diagnosis and options.
Dr. Harris did my cataract surgery and I would not have chosen anyone else. While she is an excellent surgeon and is very knowledgeable in her field, I like to be informed about my visit. When I ask questions it is because I want to know, not to be told "it's technical." As a doctor at a teaching facility, she should be able to break down concepts and explain them to anyone at any level of education. Questions are not asked to be ignored or rebuffed, especially about one's health.
Always have been treated well and she is a great doctor. The staff has always been great also.
Very thorough doctor. Answered every question with explanation to my concern
Great office, very organized
Very kind and knowledgeable. Great bedside manner.
Staff is friendly and efficient but the wait was well over 2 hours
