Dr. Lauren Harris, M.D. is a cornea specialist. When she started college she thought she might want to be a pilot; however, her love of medicine took over. Dr. Harris performs corneal transplants, cataract surgery, removal of pre-cancerous and cancerous growths as well as many other surgical procedures on the eye. Cornea transplants can be full or partial thickness and different surgical skills are required for each type. Dr. Harris also performs LASIK, another procedure in which she can restore sight and dramatically improve her patient’s vision. Additionally, she sees patients from the InterFaith Clinic and Knoxville Area Project Access, as being able to make a difference in the lives of those in need is a benefit of ophthalmology that she cherishes and holds dear to her heart.
Practicing amongst the breathtaking Smoky Mountains allows Dr. Lauren Harris to explore her passions outside of patient care. Having a proclivity towards staying active, in her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, water skiing, wake surfing, snowboarding, and traveling.
Education and Certif

She is awesome
Excellent. Every thing went so well!! Loved Dr Harris.
Dr Harris is a great surgeon but is habitually late for appointments. She performed surgery in both eyes so I have seen her many times and have always had to wait at least an hour or more in the exam room. Doesn’t matter if it’s an early or later in the day appointment, always late.
I am 67 years of age, Lauren is a excellent doctor. She is very thorough, she’s the best eye doctor I’ve ever seen.
Everyone was very courteous, thanks for excepting me as a new patient.
Lauren is always so pleasant and professional. Takes the time to answer your questions also.
One of the most caring doctors I ever met. So intelligent and honest.. i'm happy my upcoming surgery is in her hands.
Professional and caring
She and her staff are the best.
I have no concerns about the quality of care but this entire practice needs to be aware of patient time spent in the waiting room and exam rooms. My appointment was for 2:15pm. I sat in a crowded waiting room for 1 and 1/2 hours. Following my preparation, dilation and exam I was released at 5:30 pm! If this is typical at this practice it is unacceptable for me.
