Dr. Harris performs corneal transplants, cataract surgery, removal of pre-cancerous and cancerous growths as well as many other surgical procedures on the eye. Cornea transplants can be full or partial thickness and different surgical skills are required for each type. Dr. Harris also performs LASIK, another procedure in which she can restore sight and dramatically improve her patient’s vision. Additionally, she sees patients from the InterFaith Clinic and Knoxville Area Project Access, as being able to make a difference in the lives of those in need is a benefit of ophthalmology that she cherishes and holds dear to her heart.
Practicing amongst the breathtaking Smoky Mountains allows Dr. Lauren Harris to explore her passions outside of patient care. Having a proclivity towards staying active, in her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, water skiing, wake surfing, snowboarding, and traveling.

Fantastic!
Dr. Harris is the Best Eye Surgeon ever.. I will tell everyone who needs an eye doctor to go to see her!!!!
This rating is based on Dr. Harris' professionalism and superb knowledge! She absolutely is a top notch practitioner as is her staff.
Not happy, Dr Harris refuses to address the main problem after my sutured IOL implant nearly three months ago which is light scatter washout ruining my vision in my only seeing eye. A RPG lens is a common solution for this problem but Dr Harris refuses to have me evaluated by a RPG specialist trying to push glasses or a soft lens on me which its well known cannot correct my problem but A RPG frequently does and I wore a RPG for 44 years. It seems she simply doe not care if I have functional vision in my only seeing eye or not, even when her own refraction technician recommended I be evaluated for a RPG lens. She is a nice surgeon but does not take into acct vision issues Im having as if im just a number and the quality of my vision is not a priority. Aeeing text on anceyecgart is meaningless if kight scatter is so bad you cant see your own face in a mirror.. knowing there is an excellent chance a RPG lens can correct it and make your functional vision extremely better
Professional, humble, thorough. I have entrusted my eyesight to her.
