Dr. Harris performs corneal transplants, cataract surgery, removal of pre-cancerous and cancerous growths as well as many other surgical procedures on the eye. Cornea transplants can be full or partial thickness and different surgical skills are required for each type. Dr. Harris also performs LASIK, another procedure in which she can restore sight and dramatically improve her patient’s vision. Additionally, she sees patients from the InterFaith Clinic and Knoxville Area Project Access, as being able to make a difference in the lives of those in need is a benefit of ophthalmology that she cherishes and holds dear to her heart.
Practicing amongst the breathtaking Smoky Mountains allows Dr. Lauren Harris to explore her passions outside of patient care. Having a proclivity towards staying active, in her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, water skiing, wake surfing, snowboarding, and traveling.
Education and Certif

Great job, wonderful staff
Didn’t look professional. Hair was a mess. Wasn’t friendly. Not what I expected because the secretaries I worked with made her out as caring and wonderful. I had ended up with another doctor because I had to cancel with her for a reason I can’t remember and then the secretary called me back and asked if I would mind changing back to her because she had already read all my records and was very caring and wanted to see me. Now, everything feels suspect. Like there was an entirely different reason for changing me back. Secretaries were exceptionally nice but I feel they were asked to move me back for a different reason than they said to me. Too bad because I ended up at this office from a raving review from another patient’s daughter. She couldn’t remember who the doc was so I couldn’t make appointment with that doc.
We appreciate everyone… Thank-you
