During childhood Dr. Sonoda trained as a competitive gymnast and maintains an understanding of the mindset of an athlete. She is happy to return to her hometown to raise her own 3 young children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, cooking, and traveling.

I’ve had a lot of discouraging experiences with the medical system throughout my life and often left appointments feeling dismissed or not fully heard. Meeting Laura Sonoda was the complete opposite experience. From the moment she walked into the room, she brought genuine empathy, curiosity, and attentiveness. She took the time to listen, asked thoughtful questions, and made me feel like my concerns actually mattered instead of rushing through the appointment or making assumptions. What stood out most was how natural and sincere her approach felt. It’s rare to find someone in healthcare who balances professionalism, compassion, and strong communication so well. I left the appointment feeling respected, understood, and genuinely cared for. There are not enough providers like Laura, and I’m incredibly grateful for the experience she gave me.
Muy buena
Dr. Sonoda has done two of my thumb surgeries and both have been exceptional. She is very thorough and very at ease with her practice and knowledge. I highly recommend her.
I really liked Dr. Sonoda, she really listened to issues and helped with getting the pain subsided, very happy, and appreciated all the kindness… I felt very confident in her and her results 💞 Thank you so much 💞
She’s knowledgeable and personal.
Ms Sonoda wasvery good, but the injection was very vety vety painful that made me cry. I embarrdded. Hopefully injection helps it works, thankyou B
She takes the time to listen to your concerns…
Unfortunately had a horrible experience during my wrist injection. Dr. Sonoda did not use the ultrasound that her assistant brought in to do my injection. She proceeded to examine my wrist and mark it with a pen. Upon inserting the needle and injecting I felt severe burning/shock like pain throughout my hand. I then went to the ER due to the pain and was told a nerve was hit which caused my symptoms. After the injection I asked the Dr what the ultrasound is for and she mentioned “confirmation”. Confirmation of what? To not own up to your mistake is infuriating, especially since she believed I would be stupid enough to believe I had a vasovagal response. I could see the look on her face when she looked at the ultrasound after the injection that she knew she messed up and then proceeded to use it on my wrist for nothing and lie her way out of her mistake.
Good
Very kind & informative
