Dr. Matsen is a pleasure to work with. A great listener, genuinely interested in what is going on with you before/during/after procedure. I found Dr. Matsen to be direct about what needed to happen and what expectations should be to get the best results from the procedure. Never did I feel like she didn't have my best interest/results in mind, very supportive. Getting in touch with the office was easy for the times when I needed help with questions about recovery.

Amazing experience with Dr Matsen! Kind, gentle, non judgmental, confidence inspiring. Great team working with her, everyone kind and supportive. Dr Matsen is the doctor you want by your side when dealing with surgery. She has a great sense of humor and compassion.

Dr Matsen is amazing! Her care for my well being is always paramount. I have had two total hip replacements a few years ago, and now have a more active life (& certainly no pain).

Dr Laura Matsen is a great orthopedic surgeon. She listens to what you have to say. Excellent surgeon. I’m 7 weeks post op, and I walk w/o a cane or walker. I have ROM 0/122. Even takes time out on a surgery day, called me to her office after I fell on a new operated knee to make sure there was no damage to the knee. She is thoughtful and concerned about her patients.

She strives to give each of her patients highly personalized treatment, just as she would want for a member of her own family. She has two years of advanced training in minimally invasive anterior total hip replacement, total knee replacement, revision total hip and knee replacement and fracture care. She is dedicated to getting her patients back to the activities they enjoy.
Born and raised in Seattle, Dr. Matsen Ko was excited to bring her medical and surgical training back to Seattle to join her husband, Dr. Kevin Ko, in practice with Orthopedic Physician Associates. In her free time when she’s not helping patients it is likely that she’ll be enjoying the outdoors with her new son, extended family and friends. She particularly enjoys running, cycling, mountain climbing and backcountry skiing.
