She first started treating me for CTCL I was a mess under her guidance and working with Dr. Aaron Warshawsky come on my skin is cleared up and is the best that it’s been in decades. The 3 stars are not for Dr. Geskin, but for the office staff. Sitting beside my husband, a patient since a long time, I was told my insurance was not accepted, yet mine is the same as his, and my file is on "Columbia Doctors'" computers. I was anxious for a short while, and wish this would not have happened.

Had an amazing appointment with her... however I was seen almost an hour after my initial appointment time without even a whiff of an apology or a flimsy excuse about being behind due to covid protocols. My time is just as valuable as yours and although the offense is completely forgivable it was still rude ??

She was subbing for Dr Lewin. Stuck her head in looked at wound. Said looks good and left. So I really have nothing much to say about her.

She rushes through her appointments. Other Columbia Doctors (& I see a lot of Columbia Doctors in that building), enter the room, sit down, and allow you to explain why you’re there. She took the little information the nurse gave her, tried to give me a solution in about 60 seconds (never sat down) and was out the door. I had 3 issues I wanted to discuss with her. She let me get through about 1 and a half before she ran out. So I left without getting to ask her about the third issue. Not good.

Staff and front desk were excellent; I was a new patient traveling on business (not a local), and very grateful that I was seen. The Dr however, literally spent less than 2 min with me and left. She diagnosed me with shingles on sight, without asking any questions or giving directions on care. Google was more helpful.

I am sure Dr. Geskin is very knowledgable but she and her staff seemed put out and irritated when I asked questions about her diagnosis. There was a distinct sense of "I only have 5 mins for you and I don't want to discuss anything." It was dismissive and frankly rude.

Did not spend enough time explaining the plan of care and ordered a medication that was not discussed I had to call answering service to clarify if the medication was intended for me

Dr. Geskin is a great doctor. Not only is she an expert in the field, but she is the first dermatologist I’ve seen that takes my concerns seriously. I truly appreciate this since I have a history of skin cancer. My only complaints are that there are occasionally long waits and short appointments, however I don’t think scheduling is a reflection of Dr. Geskin who is a great clinician.

I like Dr. Geskin very much. However it is almost impossible to communicate with her and her staff when there is a question to be asked or a decision to be reached. It would be truly appreciated if some positive steps could be taken to assist the patient communications.

Doctor Geskin was professional and very knowledgeabl.

Dr. Geskin noticed a small growth on my face that did not appear to be anything. Dr.Geskin out of precaution ordered a biopsy. It turned out to be cancerous. Due to Dr Geskin diligence we were able to have a mohs surgeon remove the cancer in the early stages.

Before meeting Dr. Geskin, 2 staff members met with me preliminarily to ask why I made the appt. I listed my issues both times. When the doctor finally came in she asked again, as though neither nurse relayed. By the 3rd time, one issue was not addressed and after a 5 min. appt. w/ Geskin, I reminded the nurse she forgot to address the issue. I was told to make another appt; the doctor would not come back in. I thought that was very rude especially that she knew I had a newborn. Not returning.

Dr. Geskin was wonderful. The nurse was gruff. The student doctor wouldn't make eye contact and seemed to be irritated by me. Dr. Geskin was kind, calm, attentive, quite wonderful. The quality of care seemed good.

It took forever to get my results back

Dr Geskin is extremely reassuring. She gives good clinical details when called for, and listens well.

My early years with Dr. Geskin seemed fine; she was very thorough and pleasant. During my last 2 -3 visits, however, I felt less clear about reasons for treatment...esp the light treatment, which seemed to have no effect on my face (?) Also, a resident interviewed me first, with no introduction from the doctor. Instruction of the resident seemed more important to the doctor than interaction and explanation to me. I have switched providers.

Dr. Geskin is highly attentive and thorough, working systematically to work on damaged areas of my skin. She is warm and caring, making me feel very supported by her expertise . I would highly recommend Dr. Geskin !
