Dr. Patterson is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. He completed both his undergraduate studies and medical school at the University of South Alabama. He went on to complete his postgraduate training in General Surgery and Urology at Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Patterson practiced urology in Macon, Georgia for over two decades. In 2019, he returned to his home state and joined the faculty of the UAB Department of Urology.

Dr. Patterson practiced urology in Macon, Georgia for over two decades. In 2019, he returned to his home state and joined the faculty of the UAB Department of Urology. Since moving back, he has enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and is truly excited to be joining Urology Centers of Alabama.
He treats a wide range of urologic conditions, with special interests in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), stone disease, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and upper tract urothelial cancer. Outside of work, Dr. Patterson is a passionate college football fan and enjoys boating, grilling, spending time with his grandchildren, and attending live music events.
