Dr. Lance Macey is a surgeon who is continually looking to improve the accuracy and precision of his work.
“Computer assisted knee replacements have been a long term interest of mine because they bring about another level of sophistication in orthopedic surgery. The placement of the knee prosthesis is critically dependent upon it being placed in a perfect angle. The computer has allowed us to be perfect every time. We no longer have to use the old traditional methods that aren’t as accurate.”
In addition to knee replacements, Dr. Macey enjoys the rewards that come with fixing devastating injuries.
“Being a part of fixing those fractures that take people completely off their feet and make them absolutely crippled are the most rewarding for me because people go from being wheelchair bound to walking again.”
Providing an office where patients can get all of their orthopedic needs met is a point of pride for Dr. Macey.
“The nice thing about our offices is that you not only get to see the physician here, but you can have your therapy here, you can have your MRI scan and x-rays here. And we’ve done that by design because convenience is important today.

Dr. Macey’s clinical interests include total joint replacement of the hip & knee, conditions of the foot and ankle including reconstructive foot surgery, and arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee & ankle.
Education & Training:
Dr. Macey graduated medical school from Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, New Hampshire. He interned at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, New Hampshire and completed his residency at the University of Connecticut, Farmington, Connecticut. He completed two fellowships, the first in lower extremities and foot and ankle reconstruction at the University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, Washington, and the second in bone and fracture healing at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland.

Extremely personable and thorough.
He got right to the point and he explained everything that needs to get done to my knee
Dr Macey has performed two hip replacements for me. Both surgeries were seamless (minus the scar 🤣). But seriously between him and his staff i felt well informed and prepared before and after the surgeries. Can't day enough about this team
pleasant, good listener, gave recommendations, but let me choose what to do next
Dr Missy is very knowledgeable and is gentle he's never had a shot that has made me hurt and I've had two now for him so a little bit of pressure but that's it and he's easy to talk to
Thorough and informative
Dr. Macey is very quick. He does explain what's going on, suggests plan of action, but not alot of discussion or much chance for patient to ask questions. Both times I've seen him he's said "let me get that set up" and leaves the room, never to come back for any chance of questions or clarification.

Dr Macey is an excellent orthopedic physician, and I would highly recommend him!
