Dr. L. Shea Hailey is an interventional cardiologist at Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Meridian. His internal medicine internship and residency were completed at Baptist Health Systems Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Hailey continued his post-graduate training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Hailey is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, and he is a member of the Mississippi Medical Association.
Dr. Hailey has earned numerous awards including the A.H. Russakoff M.D. Award for Exceptional Devotion and Commitment to Patient Care. He has also served on various volunteer committees, such as the Heart Council and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. Dr. Plavac was my doctor, but due to health problems, he had to retire, so I had to find another cardiologist to take care of me. I felt I needed someone who really knew the pharmacology of heart care and his training and degrees seemed to align with what I was hoping for. I found him to be very personable and he listened to me astutely and was very caring and easy to talk to and I quickly learned that he really knew his stuff. He was a Doctor of Pharmacology first and then went back to school and became a Cardiologist, so he had the expertise to use what drugs are needed to properly treat our problems. You cannot imagine the kind of intelligence and devotion it takes to obtain both of those degrees, so I feel like I can totally trust his knowledge base to take care of me properly. I was very impressed with his knowledge and compassion. I strongly recommend him for anyone who needs a great doctor for their heart problems. Sincerely appreciate his now being my doctor.
