L. Matthew Jones, M.D.

Nicknamed “Bones Jones” by President George W. Bush, Dr. Jones specializes in orthopedic surgery with an emphasis on sports medicine and arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery. Dr. Jones is certified to perform partial and total knee replacements using the Mako robotics system. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has served as the former president of Azalea Orthopedics.

“I am very thankful for the privilege of caring for people with all types of bone and joint injuries,” Jones explains. ” I enjoy giving recommendations that decrease the incidence of injuries.”

Dr. Jones provides sports medicine care for athletes at several East Texas high schools and sees a wide variety of student-athletes. In addition to treating younger athletes, Dr. Jones has extensive experience caring for seasoned competitors who suffer from arthritis of the knee and shoulder, including those who are in need of total knee or shoulder reconstruction surgery.

“I have a special interest in helping competitive and recreational athletes return to their previous level of performance,” Jones said.

He enjoys playing the guitar and singing praise songs. With his wife and three sons, he enjoys scuba diving and snow skiing.
