L. Frank Liao , MD, PhD, FACC

Dr. L. Frank Liao, MD, PhD, FACC, is a distinguished specialist in invasive, general, and preventive cardiology with particular expertise in coronary angiography and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE). He holds board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine (1999), the American Board of Cardiovascular Diseases (2002), and the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology (2001). Dr. Liao earned his medical degree from Qingdao Medical College in China (1984–1989) and went on to complete a PhD in Cardiovascular Physiology at Louisiana State University (1991–1996). He then pursued his residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo (1996–1999), followed by a cardiology fellowship at the University of Louisville (1999–2002), where he also served as Chief Fellow in his final year.

Licensed in Texas since 2002 and ECFMG certified since 1996, Dr. Liao is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Texas Medical Association. He is also ACLS certified. His clinical focus, academic background, and leadership in cardiology make him a respected figure in cardiovascular medicine.
