Dr. Kunj B. Amin, M.D., is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with fellowship training in treating complex spine and musculoskeletal conditions.
Prior to joining CHARM, he practiced at Ascension Texas Spine and Scoliosis in Austin, TX, where he served as Affiliate Faculty at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas. He has extensive experience caring for patients with sciatica, scoliosis, spinal disc degeneration, spinal stenosis, as well as joint, tendon, muscle, and ligament injuries throughout the body.
Dr. Amin’s philosophy of care is simple: provide holistic, patient-centered treatment to optimize physical function and improve quality of life. Deriving from this is an approach led by nutrition, exercise therapy, and Regenerative Orthobiologic therapies such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) containing Stem Cells to support the body’s own innate ability to heal. He also offers second opinions to patients who have been advised to undergo spine or joint surgery and are looking for non-medication based alternatives, with the goal of finding the least invasive method to meet someone’s goals.
Dr. Amin understands that women are disproportionately affected by spine and other musculoskeletal disorders throughout life and particularly around pregnancy, perimenopause, and menopause. He specializes in diagnosing and treating these disorders, with a particular focus on the musculoskeletal syndrome of menopause, sacroiliac joint pain, frozen shoulder, knee pain, elbow tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and hip bursitis.
With his work serving on the Patient Safety Committee of the International Pain and Spine Interventional Society, Dr. Amin brings an evidence-based safety-first approach while using the latest advancements in minimally invasive orthopedic care. He works closely with chiropractors, physical therapists, and other members of the care team to implement personalized rehabilitation and exercise programs. He has performed thousands of non-surgical, image-guided spinal and musculoskeletal injections and ablations.
By combining precision diagnosis, advanced non-surgical treatments, and a collaborative integrative approach, Dr. Amin helps his patients return to the activities they love with confidence and lasting relief.
Born and raised in the Midwest, Dr. Amin now calls Texas home. Outside of medicine, he enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling, and searching for the best tacos in Austin.
