I found Dr.Ding to be friendly, attentive, communicative, and compassionate. He has a very good 'bedside' manner which is somewhat rare these days. Many doctors are too clinical and 'forget.' I would definitely see Dr. Ding again if Dr. Robin were unavailable.

35 minutes late to his f appointment, me. Very glib about that. Very poor bedside manner. Literally blew off all my questions. I will never see him again.

Dr. Kun Ding, M.D., is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist with expertise in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, traditional glaucoma procedures, glaucoma laser treatments, and cataract surgery.
Originally from northern China, Dr. Ding earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Shandong First Medical University and went on to complete a Ph.D. in Ophthalmology at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. As a medical student, he was inspired by observing the Flying Eye Hospital-Orbis International, which motivated him to pursue ophthalmology on a more global and diverse stage. This inspiration eventually led him to the United States, where he has continued to expand his training and career.
He undertook postdoctoral research at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University, focusing on ocular gene therapy and mechanisms of ocular neovascularization. His work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Clinical Investigation, Science Advances, and Gene Therapy.
Dr. Ding completed his internship at Lincoln Medical Center, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, and his ophthalmology residency at BronxCare Health System, affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, both in New York City. He then pursued fellowship training in glaucoma at the Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University, and the Devers Eye Institute of Legacy Health System. Upon moving to Portland for his fellowship, Dr. Ding quickly fell in love with the city. Its natural beauty and sense of community reminded him of his hometown in China, which played a key role in his decision to remain in Portland after completing his training.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ding enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with his partner, foraging for mushrooms, and traveling.
