Excellent doctor who is often overbooked. The practice is understaffed. I’m always there over an hour for routine. Mismanaged perhaps? But I’m considering changing. Sad.

After an internal medicine internship at Georgetown University Hospital, she completed her ophthalmology residency at New York University/Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. She then returned to Yale University for a glaucoma fellowship, where she became the second eye surgeon in Connecticut to be trained in Trabectome minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. She now offers a wide range of minimally invasive and noninvasive glaucoma treatments, which can be adapted to patients’ lifestyles and stages of glaucoma. In addition to her clinical work as a glaucoma specialist, Dr. Mascarenhas is interested in the impact of glaucoma and its treatment on patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Mascarenhas is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Alpha Omega Alpha – the medical honor society. She is also a volunteer faculty member at Yale University School of Medicine and a member of the Middletown Lions Club.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her family, reading mystery novels, and making jewelry.
