Dr. Whitehead is an amazing, caring & personable provider. He took the time to sit down & discuss my options in detail. He also wrote down these options which was extremely helpful for me since I have memory issues & problems with understanding. His bedside manner is incredible, & I instantly felt at ease with him, like I was talking with a good friend, even though I haven’t seen him in a while. In my opinion, I would rate him as a TOP PROVIDER. He’s the best!!!

Dr. Whitehead is excellent at describing one’s condition and answering questions. He takes whatever time needed to be sure that all questions are answered. His bedside manner is refreshingly relaxed. I truly do appreciate his propensity toward drawing out diagrams and pictorially demonstrating what we are discussing. And, he’s not hesitant in referring one to another Dr., if he thinks it could help the patient.

He was born and raised in Enterprise, AL. After spending most of his childhood chasing squirrels and rolling in the dirt, he transitioned to golf as a teenager. He had four hole-in-ones by the time he was 16 and ultimately finished T2 in the Alabama 6A State Championship in Mobile. He decided to pursue medicine after seeing the compassion and skill provided by a local family doctor to his grandmother.
Dr. Whitehead completed his undergraduate studies at Auburn University before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL. He was fortunate to spend 5 years training at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL with some of the leading surgeons and best medical technology available. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.
When he is not devoting time to patients, he enjoys hanging out with his better half, his wife of almost 20 years. He has two precious daughters and multiple rescue animals. Hobbies include gardening, travel, medical missions to Honduras and bowhunting.
