Kristopher W. Whitehead, MD

Dr. Kristopher Whitehead, MD is a board-certified urologist who joins our practice in July 2021. Trained at the famed Mayo Clinic, he has spent over a decade in private practice specializing in kidney stones, robotics and cancer surgery. He enjoys general urology and loves the variety offered by treating patients of all ages with both simple and complex issues. His practice is located in Fairhope, AL and he offers urgent stone and surgical services at Thomas Hospital.

He was born and raised in Enterprise, AL. After spending most of his childhood chasing squirrels and rolling in the dirt, he transitioned to golf as a teenager. He had four hole-in-ones by the time he was 16 and ultimately finished T2 in the Alabama 6A State Championship in Mobile. He decided to pursue medicine after seeing the compassion and skill provided by a local family doctor to his grandmother.

Dr. Whitehead completed his undergraduate studies at Auburn University before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL. He was fortunate to spend 5 years training at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL with some of the leading surgeons and best medical technology available. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.

When he is not devoting time to patients, he enjoys hanging out with his better half, his wife of almost 20 years. He has two precious daughters and multiple rescue animals. Hobbies include gardening, travel, medical missions to Honduras and bowhunting.
