Dr. Whitehead and his office staff were great. I was a new patient and they worked me in the same day, with a thorough exam

He had the records but hadn't read them so wasn't prepared. When asked tough questions, he deflected with praising how bright and 'with it' we still were. We are going to go elsewhere and have already asked for a referral to an oncologist. Serious disease deserves a serious care team.

Arrived at about 3:10 PM for a 3:30 PM appointment. After waiting for about 80-85 minutes Dr Whitehead came in. He is really good at explaning results etc. It would have been appreciated, however, if he, or his nurse, would have kept me posted. I did bring a book to read. When he was finished talking wirh me his nurse gave me appropriate paper work so I left. However, no one was at the checkout desk so i went to the exit door and it was LOCKED! Wandered to another room and found a door I could unlock and left.
Frankly, i found this experience amusing - you must realize Dr Whitehead is quite good so no issue - but would have been nice if i had been informred of possible delays.

He was born and raised in Enterprise, AL. After spending most of his childhood chasing squirrels and rolling in the dirt, he transitioned to golf as a teenager. He had four hole-in-ones by the time he was 16 and ultimately finished T2 in the Alabama 6A State Championship in Mobile. He decided to pursue medicine after seeing the compassion and skill provided by a local family doctor to his grandmother.
Dr. Whitehead completed his undergraduate studies at Auburn University before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL. He was fortunate to spend 5 years training at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL with some of the leading surgeons and best medical technology available. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.
When he is not devoting time to patients, he enjoys hanging out with his better half, his wife of almost 20 years. He has two precious daughters and multiple rescue animals. Hobbies include gardening, travel, medical missions to Honduras and bowhunting.
