Dr. Kristopher Donald Collins, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He is dedicated to restoring mobility quickly and safely, working at NanoKnee® where he focuses on delivering same-day outpatient joint replacement.
Dr. Collins completed his Bachelor of Science and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of South Florida and advanced fellowship training in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York, NY.
Dr. Collins’ philosophy is rooted in listening first and treating every patient the way he would want his own family cared for. He believes the best outcomes come from surgical expertise, trust, communication, and attention to detail. By understanding each patient’s goals and creating individualized plans, he strives to remove unnecessary hurdles and guide people back to the activities that make life worth living. Dr. Collins has earned recognition for academic excellence, leadership, and service. He is an Eagle Scout and recipient of the Singer Pollack Scholar Award and the Bryant Leadership Award during medical school. He has served in leadership roles including Total Joint Committee Chair and Orthopedic Advisory Board member during his tenure at OrthoVirginia. Dr. Collins has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presentations on joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, and cost efficiency in arthroplasty.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Collins is dedicated to his family and enjoys staying active. He finds joy in tackling challenging cycling climbs, hiking with his family, and coaching his children’s sports teams. His active lifestyle reflects the same freedom, strength, and connection he works to restore for his patients.
