Dr. Kristopher Avant, an Oklahoma native and local graduate from Yukon High School, received his Bachelor’s of Science degree at the University of Oklahoma and obtained his medical degree from Oklahoma State University Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Avant completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Bone & Joint Hospital at St. Anthony in Oklahoma City and completed a Hand & Upper Extremity Fellowship in Tampa, Florida, at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. While in Tampa, Dr. Avant had the opportunity to work extensively at the Shriner’s Hospital for children.
In addition to practicing a comprehensive range of general orthopaedics including trauma, joint replacement, and sports medicine, Dr. Avant specializes in Hand, Wrist, Elbow, Shoulder, and Microvascular Surgery.
Dr. Avant sees patients throughout the week at our OKC, Yukon, and Shawnee locations.

Excellent and caring physician
To be honest. I dont usually do these reviews. I'm leaving one ,because DR Avant made me feel like a patient. I didnt feel rushed. He made me feel like he cared. Usually i feel rushed and leave an office with more questions and feel hopeless about my situation. I've never been hurt before and no one ever has taken time to explain things to me. Even though my situation dont look good, he made me feel like it could get better. Thank you.

Someone who truly wants to help his patients through surgery and recovery. Very knowledgeable but can communicate to everyone where they are comfortable. Just all around impressed and would recommend to anyone having to go through a surgery.
