I would recommend her for hand surgery. She does talk fast like all docs in consults, but willing to answer questions. Just come prepared and bring a second set of ears to listen. She was professional and did an excellent job on my carpal tunnel. A bit slower healing that I had hoped but overall she warned it could take a year to know if nerve damage was permanent or not. I have begun to get feeling back in my fingers after 6 weeks, but tips still numb. I continue to see progress as the swelling goes down. Elevate and massage is critical at early stages especially to expedite the healing and reduce swelling.

Dr Sumner has been great. I saw her to for a follow up to a re-injury to the same area. I have done most of the physical therapy that she ordered for me and it has helped. She ordered me a new apperatice for my hand and it is helpful. I forgot to ask for a refill of my pain cream. I was fitted for my new equipment and returned to the staff that helped the doctor and this is when I was belittled and offended. I understand that she's busy but, I wasn't even finished with what I required of her. I never left the inside area. It would not be an inconvenience for her to refill a prescription. I was more than willing to wait.

She's a beautiful doctor. I'm glad that she's my doctor.

What a difference! My previous doctor diagnosed my case of trigger finger as hopeless, NOT Dr Sumner. She provided me with in office treatment & advice on supportive options. Dr Sumner is a good communicator. She gave me dietary recommendations for reducing inflammation. She recommended oral meds & topicals for pain to use as needed & massage options. All Dr Sumners recommendations were explained to me at my appointment & printed out to refer to later. I was very pleased with my consultation with Dr. Kirsten Sumner. She is the first provider who saw me in a timely manner and took the time to explain my options in detail. Another provided at a different facility pressured me to schedule surgery immediately whereas Dr. Sumner encouraged me to schedule the surgery when I'm ready. Because of this experience I will definitely be following up with her when I'm ready for the surgery.

I just feel like she was just a little dismissive of why I was there. There's no lie that I'm in pain and that something is wrong according to xray. Not an issue of medication seeking behavior because I am already prescribed opioids

Dr. Sumner is very professional, kind and caring. She takes the time to LISTEN to her patients - especially new patients - to make sure she has a complete understanding of their hand/health issues and concerns. Even though she could not detect a carpal tunnel issue via “hands-on” (pun intended) in-office manipulation diagnostics and x-rays, she ordered a nerve study that did confirm mild carpal tunnel issue with my right thumb. Wrist bracing at night for a month did not eliminate issue, so at today’s visit we discussed and agreed to try a steroid injection. She has previously treated me for a painful case of “trigger finger” in my left middle finger and issue was completely resolved with a single injection and 4 days time. I am very pleased with her care, expertise and professionalism.

She was helpful and listened. She was in a big hurry to get to the next patient. I had to ask a number of questions to know how to best treat my injury otherwise she would have been out the door before I knew how to fully care for it. My guess is the office is understaffed

She wouldn't listen to my concerns. It was robotic. I was just another number. My concerns were not addressed. She seems woefully inexperienced and uninterested in what she does. I've never felt this way about a physician before. I don't want to see her again. I'll beg the insurance to change. I'm disappointed in the core. Not sure why you have a non-board certified physician in your so-called respected practice. I should have known better. This is just awful. How does one ethically let a patient who is GETTING WORSE (fracture worse and worse) leave not immobilized? It's as if she's trying to create a reason for me to have to have surgery in the future. Nonetheless, I'm extremely upset and disappointed.
