Kingsley Okafor, M.D.

Dr. Kingsley C. Okafor, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist. Dr. Okafor is an active member of the American Glaucoma Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Okafor performs cataract surgery, glaucoma surgeries, including glaucoma drainage devices, trabeculectomies, Xen Gel Stent, and minimal invasive glaucoma surgeries such as iStent. Dr. Okafor also performs refractive surgeries such as LASIK. Although Dr. Okafor is a sub-specialist, he also treats general ophthalmology conditions such as dry eyes, eye allergies, and diabetic eye disease. In 2021, Dr. Okafor was named as one of Denver’s Top Doctors by 5280 Magazine.

Dr. Okafor was born and raised in Eastern Nebraska. Like many physicians, he felt medicine was a calling. “I want not only to provide high-quality care for my patients, I want to be able to positively impact the larger communities I serve.” Dr. Okafor believes that healthcare should be a partnership where the patients needs and wants are the focus. “My job is to collaborate with you to create a tailored and efficacious treatment plan that you feel comfortable with.”

Dr. Okafor completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska. He then attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Okafor then moved to Columbus, Ohio for his internship year at the Riverside Methodist Hospital before completing his Ophthalmology residency at the University of California- Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. Before moving to Denver, Dr. Okafor also completed a glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
