Prior to joining Capital Cardiology, he was an active duty Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, a Staff Cardiologist, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, DC. While there he was awarded the distinction of Master Clinician. He is presently a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. Dr. Woods clearly read my notes ahead of time and remembered them during our conversation. He answered all of my questions and has a nice bedside manner. When he left the room I saw him hustle on to his next thing, but I didn't feel rushed during the appointment.

Dr. Woods graduated cum laude from Boston University School of Medicine in 2001. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and was selected as Chief of Medical Residents prior to finishing his Cardiology Fellowship at Walter Reed. He is an honor graduate of West Point and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Afghanistan.
Dr. Woods is particularly interested in preventative cardiology and cardiovascular imaging. In his free time he enjoys mountain biking, exercising and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
