Dr. Kevin J. Talbot, M.D. was born and raised in Beaumont and returned home to join the practice in 2018. Dr. Talbot practices comprehensive Ophthalmology including the medical and surgical treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. His passion, however, is providing his patients with exceptional “no more glasses” vision using the latest technology in small-incision cataract surgery and laser procedures such as LASIK. Dr. Talbot combines the most up-to-date technology with his own proprietary surgical planning tools to give each patient a customized plan and he prides himself on being a resource to other surgeons, offering his advice to help with complex and challenging cases.
Dr. Talbot attended Texas A&M University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. He then continued his education at the Texas A&M – College of Medicine where he graduated in the top of his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the highest honor given to a training physician.
Dr. Talbot began developing his surgical skill during a 1-year general surgery training program at Riverside Regional Hospital in Virginia before shifting his focus to Ophthalmology. He completed his Ophthalmology training at The University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. It was there that Dr. Talbot started to solidify his reputation as a future leader in eye care. During his time in Florida he launched several surgical protocols and introduced several surgical techniques to the Florida Surgical Center and Gainesville VA Medical Center that are still being used to this day. He also volunteered his time at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station where he was a LASIK and refractive surgeon for the U.S. Navy Pilots.
He is an active Fellow of American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, International Society of Refractive Surgeons, Christian Ophthalmology Society, and other national and international medical societies.
Dr. Talbot enjoys many outdoor activities in his free time, including fishing, hunting, & hiking with his son Andrew. He is currently engaged to be married to Sara Coverdale, MD.
