Dr. Kevin Murphy is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine. During his collegiate career, Dr. Murphy played football for Army, which ignited his passion to pursue a career in the sports medicine field.
Dr. Murphy is a retired Army Colonel and has used his medical training to serve his country in many ways, including as the orthopedic consultant to The White House and The Pentagon. He is also the former chief of orthopedics at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Sports medicine is his passion, which he uses to serve the Jacksonville community as the team physician for various Duval and St. John’s county high schools, as well as for the Jacksonville Icemen and the University of North Florida Athletics.

Dr Murphy was very pleasant & professional. I am happy I chose him.
The only thing I didn't like is I have extreme pain for meniscus tear and he didn't want to prepare pain meds.
Very nice… direct …. Doesn’t sugar coat his diagnosis! He was very thorough in explaining my condition as well.
So lucky to have him and his practice SOS in Jacksonville. Best-in-class in every respect.
Dr Murphy is great and extremely knowledgable. The staff is excellent as well.
First time seeing him "post surgery 5/23/25, and he shared more with me regarding my surgery. Received a Cortisone shot to help reduce swelling more and aid in my PT and he added for me to get a Patella Hinged Knee Brace as he felt that would be helpful now. Glad I saw him.
By 10:30 am you’re already 50 minutes behind. You make the call…good or bad??
