I am proud to call Dr. Murphy my doctor. Since he fixed my knee years ago, I've been able to reach new heights with my health and fitness. I also respect a doctor that is in good physical shape like he is. He's obviously disciplined, and I want the best working on me, and that's what he is in my opinion. I am a hard to please individual, so when I give a review like this, you can take it to the bank. I mean, dang, he operated on President Bush. What more is there to say if the President of the United States believed in him?

Easy to talk to. Heard my concerns. Able to refer me to a good surgeon for my shoulder.

Doc Murphy and his medical staff are squared away! Due to a past administrative financial issue I was told I will never have the options to make payments on procedures done at this establishment. That really does hurt the future relationship. $153.00 balance from previous visits/ operations. I have been bringing myself and my son with this establishment for close to 10 years. It’s a shame I may have to look elsewhere in the future for procedures, PT, and evaluation.

Dr Murphy is excellent. However, the MRI scheduling process is making us think twice about staying with SE Ortho. We were told to go to one location and arrived there to be sent 30 mins and over 20 miles to another much later. We wasted our time, gas, and had a very unpleasant experience with Brooks MRI specialist Silvia. We are now at County Rd office and sitting and waiting. My daughter is now forced to miss another appt that we will still have to pay for. Could we not have scheduled tomorrow at a closer place? No one bothered to ask or offer. And it feels like no one cares on these Imaging centers. Again, Dr Murphy is incredible - has done 3 prior surgeries in our family. But this Imaging Center discombobulating mess makes us think twice.

Doctor was fine. 73 minutes late, a room full of complaining patients, no one to ever give an update. Ask the girls at the desk why, you get shoulder shrugs. After completing the questions on line, I had to repeat them on the pad at check in, to have to repeat them in the exam room a 3rd time. Get your things together.

He was dismissive and snide. Made me feel bad for wasting his time.

Dr. Murphy asked me questions about history of my injury, and did an assessment of my left knee, including several x-ray views. He showed me the areas of arthritis & bone spurs, thinning cartilage, explaining the discomfort. His plan begins with most conservative treatment, then if needed can try cortisone & then gel injections. Recommended a topical which i’ll try applying 3 x per day.

Dr. Murphy has treated both my son and myself. My son is a 300 pound Division I Football player who tore his labrum and bicep in his second to last game last year. After Dr. Murphy operated on him, he has made a full recovery and is able to start his senior year of football. He is also about to break the State of S.C.'s combo weight lifting record on the bench and squat! Needless to say, we are thrilled with Dr. Murphy's expertise, professionalism and bedside manner!! I personally asked to see Dr. Murphy as I believe he is one of the best. But SOS is so busy they seem more interested in moving everyone through like cattle. I would have liked to have had more discussion on my issue with the doctor since it has been causing me concern and anxiety for a long time but I didn't sense the same concern from the doctor. He answered the questions I posed but there was little discussion on the reason for his answers. And of course I thought of more questions after I left but I felt hurried to move along.

Did not show me my films and go over my new injuries visually. Since my initial injury on same knee their were multiple new things since last mri so I wanted to know. He was attentive and answered some questions but I feel the passion is gone and extra effort to go over mri in its entirety and just doing the least amount of work I don’t think he even looked at old films to see what was new. He said sometimes they just put extra stuff on mri report. But my old injury exacerbated since fall so I wanted to know what was new not just I had displaced tibia fracture.Wait time was good but I scheduled first appt today just so I didn’t have to wait long.

Dr. Murphy has conducted surgery on my left shoulder and now I’m back for the right. I never had any issues that’s why I recommend him for anyone who is experiencing joint or shoulder pain. His friendly demeanor and professional explanations of what’s causing my pain and also explaining what approach he wants to take to make me feel better. Dr. Murphy recently operated on my Division I football player's shoulder in December of 2020, using 7 anchors to re-attach his labrum. He is now going into his senior year and fourth year of football an an offensive tackle. The surgery was so successful that he is now pushing up 500 pounds on the bench press!! I’ve torn my ACL twice in the past and went in to see Dr. Murphy for a twisted knee (hoping it’s not torn again but we will see). He was very accommodating to me and made sure I got into an MRI fast.

UNDOUBTEDLY, THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT A DOCTOR’S OFFICE IN MY LIFE. This keona is a nasty cancer in that practice. She was initially calm in front of the girls but when I was in a private room waiting on Kevin Murphy, she was extremely confrontational and belligerent. She said she was the manager and refused to allow me to see Kevin Murphy unless I got an xray first. I tried to kindly explain that I had already gotten an xray prior per Kevin Murphy plus, even Kevin Murphy said it was "worthless" as it was a soft tissue injury and I needed an MRI so I had gotten that done too. Regardless of the above, I was only there as requested for a follow up and not anything else and didn’t need to be harassed, bullied and threatened. I asked multiple times “can I please see Kevin Murphy to discuss things as I had an appointment?” and the nasty cancer keona said “absolutely not!”. The nasty cancer keona told me that if I didn’t get an xray that I needed to leave so I asked to speak with Kevin Murph

Dr Murphy I guess felt is was beneath him to administer my cortisone injection he recommended and made me reschedule with pa to do it after already having scheduled appt in aug they canceled 2 days before my appt. it took me another month to get reschedule for sept and I left office still in pain when Murphy could do cortisone injection. As he recommended. This is at best over utilization of services. I had been very happy with dr Murphy and staff prior to this visit . For various services over the years. I complained to onsite office manager before leaving and called regional practice manager and she never even bothered to call me back this week but I received this survey instead of a call I guess terrible customer service. I am very dissapointed this practice choose to have me leave in pain without cortisone injection and have become increasingly disappointed with the current healthcare system as a registered nurse for 35 years this experience was unnecessary

Dr. Murphy's knowledge is very much appreciated and I'm not going anywhere else; but having run an orthopedic surgeon's (hand surgeon) office, I would try and see about getting the waiting room time more under control. I had a 3pm appointment and got there a few minutes early, as is suggested, and wasn't seen until 4pm...I know that happens sometimes but you may want to review that. I heard some complaining...I even tried to see if there were any appointments or cancellations at any of the offices as I had a meeting out in Mayport that I was late for...just my thoughts :)

Decided due to Pandemic and skeptical of Surging at 74 yrs. of age, decided not to proceed with Surgery , diagnosis of 2 Tears on Right Shoulder with replacement needed of insertion of 2 screws . Right Rotator Cuff Repairman.
