Wow No surgerjust arthritis

He was knowledgeable and listened to what I had to say.

Was seen before by this DR. Most recent appt I stated my knees hurt more and my lower calves. He stated arthritis is moderate and asked me “ have you had an injection with me.” I said “I believe so do you know when”? He said no I was shocked I realized he never even read notes before seeing me. Extremely dismissive said he believed my issues were rheumatic. When I told my new rheumatologist this same issue 2 weeks later he immediately did an ultrasound saw the fluid in my knee. I received an injection it was too painful to withdraw the fluid. I’m pretty upset that the specialist knee Dr could care less.

Dr Dwyer is a brilliant surgeon. He performed my hip replacement surgery and I will be returning for my knee replacement next. The procedure he performed went extremely well and the result was life changing for me. Grateful to have access to such outstanding healthcare here in the cape.

Dr Dwyer listened closely to my symptoms and asked me pertinent questions and carefully examined my knee. He has a warm personality with a good bedside manner. Discussed changes in lifestyle and diet that could help as well as the cortisone shot to get my back on my feet. Back in the game!

This is my second hip replacement. It took months to recover from my first one performed by a different surgeon. I was off pain medication in 48 hours. Off a walker in 72 hours. I was off the cane in 96 hours after Dr. Dwyer's hip replacement surgery. I can't say that your recovery will be as good, but the difference between his surgery and the one I had before is night and day. I can't recommend his work high enough.

I’ve struggled for several years with knee pain, stiffness, and ROM issues from what appears to be a failed total knee replacement. Even though I had mentally accepted doing a hip replacement by our conversation. I was quite astonished that you never took a new set of X-rays at least, given that I had fallen twice since the June 7th ones were taken (and now a 3rd time last Friday). Even though I mentioned that the bulk of my pain is in the bursa area and knee. Now that I have to wait until Oct. 3rd for surgery (hip cortisone shot was 7/3/23, not 7/13), I’m still looking into further verification of the situation. I would think at the very least a MRI of right bursa area (or hip) could be in order and I will try to get. This pain hasn’t been over years gaining intensity but over 3 months. Thanks David
