He’s a great surgeon very friendly you’re in and out of his office he answers all your questions and he does not make you feel like you’re just a number. He treats you like you’re his best friend and I love that about him. And everyone else in his office is very polite and on the ball you do not sit around and wait for anything there.

I would like to have access to in office X-rays on the portal and also be able to send work related paper work that needs to be filled out on the the portal for office staff to retrieve and complete. With privacy rules I do understand that it is difficult to do.

Dr. DeFontes completed his foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and his orthopaedic residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. He had additional training in trauma orthopaedics are the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at University of Maryland Medical Center and pediatric orthopaedics at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
During his residency training, he worked as a medical officer at the Food and Drug Administration in the division of orthopaedic devices overseeing the approval of various orthopaedic devices and implants. Dr. DeFontes received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is board eligible in orthopaedic surgery.
During his orthopaedic training in both Baltimore and Boston, he had the opportunity to take care of athletes of all ages including local high school, college, and professional sports teams. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques within foot and ankle surgery, with the goal of getting patients back to sports and athletic activities in a timely manner.
