She completed her undergraduate education at St. Olaf College prior to attending medical school at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Dr. Nelson fulfilled her internship and residency requirements in pediatrics at the University of Virginia’s Health System just prior to coming to work for Richmond Pediatrics. She is board certified in pediatrics. Dr. Nelson is especially interested in the areas of developmental pediatrics and promoting healthy lifestyles with her patients.

Dr Nelson has showed us kindness and compassion over the last 9+ years.
She was by our side during the worst time in our lives and didn’t hesitate to help us navigate a new pathway forward. This was our last visit as a pediatric patient and we will miss her so much.
Our new PCP has big shoes to fill and we will miss this practice so much.
