She completed her undergraduate education at St. Olaf College prior to attending medical school at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Dr. Nelson fulfilled her internship and residency requirements in pediatrics at the University of Virginia’s Health System just prior to coming to work for Richmond Pediatrics. She is board certified in pediatrics. Dr. Nelson is especially interested in the areas of developmental pediatrics and promoting healthy lifestyles with her patients.

Dr. Nelson actually listens to the parents and the patient. I love that she is kind and likes to try and find a solution and if by a few weeks of trying it she ask us to let her know if it’s working. I feel Dr. Nelson is the 1st Dr. to really care about the patient/parent/s

Dr. Nelson is incredible! We have been taking our first child to her since birth, and now take our new baby too. She has a great attitude, is so encouraging and uplifting, super knowledgeable and ready to share info in a digestible way. Highly recommend!
