From age 12, Dr. Kathleen Heffron M.D., FACOG, knew that she wanted to be a doctor. She was attracted to the opportunity of helping women with their unique healthcare needs, as well as using her surgical skills. After delivering babies for 34 years, Dr. Heffron now limits her practice to office gynecology and GYN surgery. The idea that The Women’s Health Group can genuinely make a difference in a patient’s life is ultimately why Dr. Heffron formed the practice in January of 1991. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana and earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completing her residency through Louisiana State University Medical Center.
She is the former Department Chair for Women’s and Children’s Services at Hillcrest Hospital South, OB/GYN Section Chief at Hillcrest Medical Center and has served as chairman of the nursing liaison and Quality Assessment committee at St. John Medical Center.
She is a member of the Tulsa County Medical Society, the Oklahoma State Medical Association, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Heffron is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also certified to perform gynecological procedures using the daVinci Robotic Surgery.
On a personal level, Kathleen is married and has one daughter. She is also an avid baseball fan and likes to cook, especially for large groups of friends and family.
I was genuinely impressed with my visit, especially as a new patient. What stood out most was how thorough, attentive, and proactive she was. She took the time to listen, explain things in detail, and make sure I understood everything. Even the little things made a difference! From an examination table that actually adjusts so you don’t feel like your bottom is falling off a cliff, to providing a T-shirt so you’re not sitting there freezing or feeling exposed. Those thoughtful details don’t go unnoticed! What I appreciated most was that she didn’t just listen to my concerns and leave it at that. She immediately put a plan in place to find answers, explained the next steps, and arranged additional testing with a plan to review the results promptly. I left feeling heard, comfortable, and confident in my care. Sometimes it’s the little things that speak the loudest!
