Dr. Katherine C. Bartush, M.D. received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at UTHSCSA, where she won awards for research. For subspecialty training in Sports Medicine, she completed an additional fellowship at the world-renowned American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, with Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center.

Originally from Texas, Dr. Katherine C. Bartush, M.D. graduated Summa Cum Laude as a Dean’s Scholar from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Finance and with a Chemistry minor while playing on the university soccer team.
She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. There, she graduated at the top of her class with Alpha Omega Alpha honors and was selected for the Dr. Charles A. Rockwood Award for Student Excellence in Orthopedics. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at UTHSCSA, where she won awards for research. For subspecialty training in Sports Medicine, she completed an additional fellowship at the world-renowned American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, with Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center. While there, she was a team physician for Troy University and the Birmingham-Barrons baseball team. She then completed a second fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at The Steadman Clinic with Dr. Thomas O. Clanton in Vail, Colorado, and traveled internationally with the US Olympic Ski and Snowboard Team as a team physician.
She focuses on preserving patients’ knees, shoulders, elbows, hips, and ankles at the Alliance and Bedford locations.
Throughout her training, she has earned awards for excellence in orthopedics and research. She has been published in peer-reviewed journals, written surgical technique articles, and performed clinical research. She is also a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society. She enjoys skiing, camping, tennis, and spending time with her Newfoundland dog.
