Dr. Karthik Ponnusamy is fellowship trained in hip and knee replacements. He specializes in arthroscopy, hip and knee conditions, total and partial knee replacements, total hip replacements (including the direct anterior approach), and general orthopaedics. He sees patients in the Canton and Woodstock offices.
Dr. Ponnusamy received his Medical Degree from Stanford University following a Master of Science Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree both in Biomedical Engineering with honors from Johns Hopkins University. He then completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery also from Johns Hopkins University. After residency, he completed a Hip and Knee Replacement Fellowship at the University of Western Ontario. During his fellowship, he received additional training and earned a Master of Science in Surgery.
Dr. Ponnusamy has contributed significant research to the medical community including presentations and publications on stem cells, tissue engineering, robotic surgery, and perioperative patient management. He also has numerous awards and honors including the Ronald Byank Chief Resident Servant Leadership Award, Chief Resident Research Award, and Rhodes Scholar Finalist.
Dr. Ponnusamy lives in Woodstock with his wife and son. He enjoys hiking, traveling, and photography

Initial office visit was awesome. He took all the time I needed to discuss options. In pre op just before replacement surgery He was far more rushed and answered my questions but I could tell he needed to go so I cut my questions short.
Dr P was on duty when I had an accident and had to have surgery during a weekend. I have to say that I could not have picked a better and more competent surgeon. I am so pleased with Dr P and have already let my family know that if anyone has an orthopedic problem I have the best orthopedic doctor ever!! He’s the best!
