Kandon K. Kamae, MD

Dr. Kandon K. Kamae, M.D. joined the staff of Spokane Eye Clinic in 2012. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Hawaii in 1997. He went on to earn his Medical Degree in 2006 at the same university.



After medical school, he completed a year as an Ophthalmic Pathology fellow conducting IOL research at the John Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. He then completed his residency at the same facility in 2011. Dr. Kamae completed his Glaucoma fellowship also at the John Moran Eye Center in June, 2012.



He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and he is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.



His professional interests include cataract, medical and surgical glaucoma, and anterior segment surgery. He is interested in international volunteer work.



Dr. Kamae enjoys singing and playing the guitar and ukulele. He speaks fluent Japanese. He and his family plan to enjoy the many outdoor activities of the Pacific Northwest.
