Thank you Dr. Edelman for your care over the last 20 years. I left a msg with Clyde on a question I had relative to asking for a colonosopy before December. Dr Jasper suggested I ask you directly since I have been having problems with my gastrointestinal areas for the last 4-5 months.

Dr Edelman is a very astute doctor who values his patients’ viewpoints and concerns about their own health. He is a good listener and has the ability to get to the crux of the matter without wasting time.

Easy to talk to.. practical advice.. good solution.. “Simpatico” as we say in italian

He’s the best

Dr. Edelman seemed frustrated with the amount of questions I had and my pushback on his recommendations. I had to advocate for my issues to be considered beyond that they were psychological. I will admit that he did eventually engage beyond a surface reading, but gastroenterologists need to have more sensitivity regarding patients with mental health history. While the two fields are linked, stigma and assumptions have been made multiple times in my interactions with doctor and prevented me from care I’ve needed. Mental health patients lack trust in doctor recommendations when they feel gastrointestinal issues are dismissed as related to mental health without thorough review, and have to advocate more for themselves than typical patients in all health settings. GI doctors need to find a more holistic approach to their patients besides antidepressants, which can be detrimental to psychiatric treatment plans and are useless if an underlying cause is ignored.

Dr. Edelman listens to what the patients have to say and then he explains in plain English what test need to be done to get a right diagnosis. He seems to respect the patients input.

Came in 45 min early to my first appointment. Hoping I could be out sooner due to a funeral rescheduled the same day as my appointment. I asked If I could be seen quickly so I could leave to attend the funeral. After 20 min waiting they brought me in only to tell me that he could not see me at all and that he's leaving for vacation. Next appointment 2 months later. Thanks!
