Dr. Justin Colanese is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Colanese joined Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute in 2019 and provides surgical and nonsurgical care to patients with conditions and injuries of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity.
In his practice, Dr. Colanese tailors every treatment to what is the most effective and practical for a given patient in a given situation. Using the latest methods and techniques, his expertise includes total ankle replacement and fusion, total and partial knee replacement, total hip replacement, fracture fixation, foot deformity correction, tendon and ligament reconstruction, and arthroscopy. He also offers nonoperative fracture care, joint injections, bracing, and orthotics as well as shock wave therapy.
An Indiana native, Dr. Colanese completed his undergraduate studies at Earlham College in Richmond, followed by earning his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. In Missouri, Dr. Colanese completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his advanced foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Washington University Physicians in St. Louis.
When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Colanese spends his spare time with his wife and two young boys. He also enjoys reading, golf, exercise, and regularly attending Immanuel United Reformed Church in DeMotte.

I had a hip replacement in July and then I broke my other hip 3 months later. Dr Colanese did both surgeries and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend him!
