As a board certified allergist and clinical immunologist, Dr. Junfang Jiao, M.D. has been trained in the treatment of both adult and pediatric allergic, immunologic and pulmonary related diseases.
Dr. Jiao completed his internal medicine residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York and allergy and immunology Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis/St. Louis Children’s Hospital. He also earned a PhD in molecular biology from University of Delaware and had post-doctoral research training in virology and immunology at University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
His areas of expertise include allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis (hay fever), chronic sinusitis, food and drug allergies, asthma, chronic cough, hives and swelling, atopic dermatitis (eczema), contact dermatitis, stinging insect allergy, anaphylaxis, hypereosinophilia, eosinophilic esophagitis and gastroenteritis, mast cell disorders and primary immunodeficiency. He has a particularly strong interest in asthma, and authored a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals and textbook chapters.
He welcomes patients of all ages and provides service at our Newark (Chestnut Hill) and Middletown offices. His goal is to provide state-of-the-art patient care with a personal touch.

Very thorough and professional
Buen doctor la atención es muy buena
During a recent visit, Dr. Jiao made a comment that my daughter’s an adult now. My daughter and I felt an attitude in his voice when he made that comment. I don’t know why. Even though she’s 23 yrs. old, she still needs guidance from her parent when making major decisions. Especially ones that pertain to her health. She doesn’t know that her body may be immune to an allergy medicine she has been taking for over 2 years or more. I would have liked the doctor to offer more viable solutions in helping her, instead of me the parent suggesting them. For example, I suggested blood work to assess if her allergies have become worse or is the same,’since she hasn’t had bloodwork done in since 2022.
Very professional and listened to my concerns. His caring mannerisms made it easy to discuss my problem.
I saw Dr Jiao today I was checked for my Allergy. His service was very good. He gave me the prescription I I needed.

Dr Jaio is an excellent doctor, very thorough & listens to his patients.
He is amazing. I have been sick on and off my whole life, and through his tests and knowledge of immunity, I will now have comprehensive options that work so I can get well. His bed-side manner is very comforting and is also patient and willing to explain treatments. I’m exceedingly happy.
