Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA, Lewis LASIK corneal surgical center in Elkins Park, PA, and at the Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut in Fairfield and Stamford, CT. She also received additional training in the pediatrics, children with special needs, glaucoma, retina, anterior segment and cataract surgery, vision therapy, low vision, myopia management, and specialty contact lens clinics at the University Eye Center in New York, NY.
She then completed her residency in Cornea and Contact Lens with emphasis in Anterior Segment and Ocular Disease at SUNY Optometry where she co-managed treatment and follow-up for complex anterior segment conditions, such as: keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, corneal dystrophies and degenerations, post-operative refractive surgery, trauma, corneal cross-linking, aphakia, corneal transplants, ocular surface disease, and more. She specializes in fitting scleral, gas permeable, piggyback system, hybrid, soft and plastic prosthetic, orthokeratology, and custom soft contact lenses.
Upon completion of her doctorate, Dr. Song graduated with five awards: the Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, the Johnson and Johnson Excellence Award for Excellence in Clinical Contact Lenses, the Dr. Frederick W. Brock Memorial Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance in Vision Training, the Ira Goldfarb Memorial Award for Excellence in Low Vision, and the NYSOA Auxiliary Award for Outstanding Service to the Class of 2022 for her work as Class President for all four years of optometry school. She also served as Vice President of the Gold Key Honor Society, was a four-year member of Beta Sigma Kappa, and received numerous scholarships while in school. During her residency year, she served on the GP Lens Institute Resident Advisory Board and delivered multiple COPE-Approved lectures. She has also presented numerous posters at academic meetings and has published in Review of Optometry.
Dr. Song speaks fluent English and Mandarin.
