Dr. Heimur graduated from The George Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience. She then spent two years at the National Institutes of Health performing clinical research on the musculoskeletal system. Dr. Heimur earned her medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by completion of orthopaedic surgery residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. In Philadelphia, she had the privilege to train under several notable mentors, including previous Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Eagles team physicians at esteemed institutions such as the Jefferson Hospital System and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Heimur then completed her orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Andrews Institute through the Andrews Research & Education Foundation under the mentorship of Dr. James Andrews, a world-renowned leader in sports medicine, and his astounding partners.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Heimur has served as team physician for athletes at all levels, including professional baseball through the Miami Marlins organization, NCAA Division I and II colleges, and high schools. Her hands-on involvement with athletes emphasizes her commitment to helping patients recover and perform at their best.
When not in the operating room or on the sidelines, Dr. Heimur enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children, and labrador retriever.

Everyone all staff excellent!
Dr Heimur was interested in progress following 2/5/26 left knee surgery and focused on my concerns for Rt shoulder pain that had become a concern after the fall tat resulted in Lft Kenee surgery. Her careful evaluation indicated no need for surgery but PT exercises could help recovery after likely Rt rotator cuff damage. Steroid shots an option to reduce pain during use if desired. Dr H. provided shoulder Exercise protocol that should help restore strength & aid possible healing. CF chose to avoid steroid shots for know. The detailed evaluation & personal attn by Dr H. is greatly appreciated.
