Listened to what I was saying. He was very good at explaining x-rays and diagnosis, as well as, options for treatment. I opted for two injections that I had feared for years and they were so much less painful than I’d ever thought. Glad I listened to his expertise.

Dr. Garbarino helps patients of all ages enjoy an active lifestyle by treating a wide range of non-operative orthopedic problems. He is board certified in emergency medicine and sports medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and American College of Emergency Physicians.
He previously served as medical director of Carolina West Sports Medicine in Sylva, NC, where he coordinated care of school and college athletes. This often involved treating concussions and non-operative musculoskeletal injuries. In addition to being the team physician for Western Carolina University, he also gave class lectures at the Western Carolina University Athletic Training Education Program. He was named its director in 2012.
When he’s not participating in triathlons, Dr. Garbarino enjoys golfing, cooking BBQ ribs and spending time with his wife and 2 children.
