Dr. Jusdon Garbarino, M.D. earned his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He concentrated in emergency medicine during his internship and residency training at Ohio State University in 2005. Afterwards, he went to Riverside Hospital in Columbus, OH where he completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship.

Dr. Garbarino helps patients of all ages enjoy an active lifestyle by treating a wide range of non-operative orthopedic problems. He is board certified in emergency medicine and sports medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and American College of Emergency Physicians.
He previously served as medical director of Carolina West Sports Medicine in Sylva, NC, where he coordinated care of school and college athletes. This often involved treating concussions and non-operative musculoskeletal injuries. In addition to being the team physician for Western Carolina University, he also gave class lectures at the Western Carolina University Athletic Training Education Program. He was named its director in 2012.
When he’s not participating in triathlons, Dr. Garbarino enjoys golfing, cooking BBQ ribs and spending time with his wife and 2 children.
