Dr. Joy Long is a native of Lancaster County and a graduate of Conestoga Valley High School. She received her M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. After graduating from her residency in orthopedic surgery at the George Washington University in Washington, DC, she completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the University of Michigan.
A board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Long is a candidate member of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. She is also a member of the Ruth Jackson Society for women in orthopedics.
Dr. Long has a special interest in arthroscopic knee, hip, shoulder, and ankle surgery as well as reconstructive shoulder and knee surgery.

Dr. Long and her team are the best. I had seen her previously for shoulder issues and had shoulder surgery performed by Dr. Long. I was in recently for knee issues, which her and her team helped identify my issues, took the time to answer all my questions, and showed care and concern for the pain I was experiencing.
Dr Long is absolutely knowledgable, very easy to talk to about any of your concerns. She does not rush you thru your appointment and answers all questions you have for her. Dr Long is very caring about her patients and only wants the best to help her patients feel better. I would absolutely recommend Dr Long !
Dr. Long truly listened to me and was so helpful with all her suggestions. We came up with a treatment plan together. She is so compassionate and I felt she truly cared for me, not just my issue.
