He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia and his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Dr. Hackel completed his residency at Columbus Regional Medical Center before pursuing a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute under the direction of Dr. James R. Andrews and Dr. Tracy Ray.
As a pioneer in regenerative medicine, Dr. Hackel was the first physician at the Andrews Institute to utilize stem cell therapy successfully in the treatment of soft tissue injuries and joint disorders and is an internationally recognized expert in stem cell therapies and ultrasound-guided procedures.
