Dr. Joseph Slappey is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with particular interests in knee and shoulder injuries, sports medicine, arthroscopy and total joint replacement.
Dr. Slappey served as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery for Mercer University School of Medicine and serves the local community as team physician for area high school & college athletic teams.
Dr. Slappey is known as one of a select few orthopaedic surgeons now certified in Orthotripsy treatment using what is known as the Ossatron.

Awesome doctor
Did my rotator cuff 6 yrs ago & I have felt like new ever since. He recently gave me a shot in my other shoulder & I felt nothing. He is awesome!!
He was very patient and informative! I knew everything I needed to know when I left! He broke everything down to me and assured me that if I followed his orders I’d be better!
Answered all my questions. Explained and showed me the X-ray he had me do. Made a referral for me.
