Dr. Joseph Slappey is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with particular interests in knee and shoulder injuries, sports medicine, arthroscopy and total joint replacement.
Dr. Slappey served as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery for Mercer University School of Medicine and serves the local community as team physician for area high school & college athletic teams.
Dr. Slappey is known as one of a select few orthopaedic surgeons now certified in Orthotripsy treatment using what is known as the Ossatron.

He’s the best at what he does. He talks to you and explains what’s going on with your body. He has great patient relations and I think God for him putting me back together so I can live a more comfortable lifestyle
Dr. Slappey is an asset to GA Orthopedics because he is a caring physician, attentive to the practice rules, and treats his patient without pushing the patient toward surgery unless he believes it to be the best solution.
