On my last appointment I felt like he caught an attitude because I asked for a second opinion. As he walked out the room he said good luck with the next doctor and surgeries that you have. If he felt that way then why didn’t he do the surgeries if that’s what he felt like I needed. I didn’t like what he said at all.

His philosophy is simple: help patients get back to doing what they love as quickly and safely as possible. He believes surgery should always be the last option, encouraging patients to first explore non-operative treatments like physical therapy, injections, and other conservative measures. However, when those approaches don’t deliver the relief patients need, Dr. Romano is ready to step in with surgical solutions—treating each patient with the same care and attention he would give a member of his own family.
Outside of the operating room, he loves to watch Notre Dame football, tee off on the golf course, play pickleball, dive into a good book, or explore new travel destinations. His passion for spine health and love for the game make him a driven surgeon dedicated to getting patients back in action.
