Dr. Joseph W. Purcell, D.O., is a board-certified physician specializing in Family Practice.
He earned three Bachelor of Science Degrees in Biology, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in May 1981. He then graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, in June 1986, where he served as the Student-Faculty Liaison.
Dr. Purcell completed his internship at Chicago Osteopathic Medical Center in 1987 and his residency in family practice at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, in 1989.
He is board-certified in Family Practice through the American Board of Family Practice. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and received the American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award in 1999. Dr. Purcell was also voted one of the “Best Doctors” by Better Living Magazine for 2003-2004.
