This was the first time Drr. Nowatzke had seen me. He ordered tests which are a little different than the previous test I had due to some recent episodes I had. It seems reasonable. I liked his demeanor.

Dr. Nowatzke was extremely personable at my first visit with him. He went over my chart and had a clear understanding of my diagnosis and what medications my prior doctor had already tried to control my low blood pressure. He asked many questions of me to get a clear picture of my overall health. Dr. Nowatzke stopped on multiple occasions and asked me if I had any questions of him. We made a treatment plan going forward that would be comfortable and safe for both of us medically. I was very pleased with Dr. Nowatzke

Dr. Nowatzke was born in Muncie, Indiana, and grew up in Ohio. He graduated cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and subsequently graduated from Central Michigan University College of Medicine in Saginaw, MI. Dr. Nowatzke completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He stayed at Vanderbilt to complete his cardiology fellowship. During his training, he authored several academic publications and book chapters spanning topics from healthcare delivery and quality improvement to cardio-oncology.
His interest in cardio-oncology led him to spend a dedicated year of training in this subspeciality and obtain a certificate acknowledging his unique expertise. He also developed a skillset in multi-modality imaging, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac computed tomography (CT), and vascular imaging. Additionally, he was part of quality improvement initiatives focused on promoting efficient care and meeting patient needs in a complex medical system.
He is now happy to enjoy Florida living with his wife and daughter as part of the Clearwater Cardiovascular Consultants group, where he strives to bring a patient-centered approach to the team.
