He will listen to your needs, include you in his diagnosis and treatment decisions, and welcome your input and feedback each step of the way.
Dr. Liljenquist is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon dedicated to providing you with exceptional orthopedic care. He believes in meeting patients’ needs through comprehensive evaluation and individualized treatment designed to help them achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle. He combines leading-edge techniques with proven traditional methods to provide his patients with the best orthopedic care possible.
As a graduate of George Washington University Medical School, with more than 10,000 hours of surgical experience in the operating room, you can be assured his skills are exceptional. In addition, he completed a Fellowship program in arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement to complement his broad experience in general orthopedics. Because of his knowledge, experience, and skills, he can provide his patients with top quality care.
He works to develop a partnership with his patients. On his part, this begins with listening. One of the most important things he needs to know is how the physical problem affects the patient’s life. He develops a dialogue, through which his patients understand the diagnostic process, their own unique problem, their treatment choices, and the recovery process.
He informs his patients of all the treatment options they have for an injury, and what the advantages and disadvantages are of each option. Surgery is only one of the many treatment options. Many of his patients never need to have surgery – many times rehabilitation of the injured area is all that is needed. If a patient does require surgery, he will inform the patient of why surgery is required, what will be done in the surgery, and what to expect as an eventual outcome after surgery.
Dr. Liljenquist traveled to Haiti after the devastating 2010 earthquake. He was able to treat many orthopedic problems for the people in the city of Leogane. Leogane is about 20 miles from Port Au Prince and was at the epicenter of the earthquake. He treated many people at a make-shift orthopedic clinic set up outside of a “tent” hospital but was also able to get out into the countryside in order to reach the people unable to travel to the clinic. He helped many of the earthquake survivors and enjoyed the time he was able to dedicate to the Haitian people when they were in such great need.

There’s no one better than Dr. Liljenquist, both in his knowledge and his personal interactions. He really does care.
I am so grateful to find a doctor who is both experienced and cares. I am actually looking forward to my surgery and feeling better soon. Thank you!!!
Dr Liljenquist is gentle and kind. He does a great job of fixing things like my total knee replacement and my broken foot/leg. I appreciate being able to talk to him. He knows his stuff
I had a right knee replacement and my surgery and recovery were very successful. Thank you Dr. Liljenquist.
Happy no complaints
Very trusted and easy to understand as he explains what’s happened to your arm.
After having my arm operated in April by my previous surgeon nothing was explained to me. Recovery time or what to expect. I changed to Dr Liljenquist After going to my previous surgeon’s office I only met him one time. After having 5 appointments. Going to doctor Liljenquist he was so very kind and helpful explaining what took place and what I was experiencing from my surgery and how long it would take to recover. He is very knowledgeable and cares about his patients. I highly would recommend him. Such a kind caring man. I wish I have known he took VA pay.
