A native of Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Anderson is dedicated to helping patients recover from injury and return to the activities they love—on the field, at work, or at home.
Dr. Anderson earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of South Alabama Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. He went on to complete fellowship training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the University of Missouri, where he gained extensive experience in joint preservation, minimally invasive procedures, and the treatment of athletic injuries. During his tenure at the University of Missouri, he was part of the sports coverage team of physicians, where he was actively involved in the medical treatment of athletic injuries for multiple collegiate and high school sports programs, including the Mizzou football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball teams. Dr. Anderson specializes in sports medicine and shoulder surgery, with a special interest in knee arthroscopy and open treatment of knee conditions, including ligamentous reconstruction, cartilage restoration, and joint preservation surgery; arthroscopic and open shoulder surgery, including rotator cuff repair, treatment of shoulder instability, and shoulder arthroplasty (replacement); as well as hip arthroscopy.
Dr. Anderson works closely with athletic trainers, physical therapists, and referring providers to ensure every patient receives personalized, coordinated care from diagnosis through recovery. His goal is to restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve function so patients can stay active at every stage of life.
Outside of work, Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his family and activities that promote the active lifestyle he loves.

Excellent Physician. My 1st time seeing him and my concerns were addressed and the problem diagnosed and treated. We have a plan in place and I left reassured in the outcome.

Dr. Anderson was thorough and listened to my 92 year old father. So grateful to see a doctor who genuinely cares for elderly people who are experiencing pain. After assessment, a plan of action was presented and treatment for the pain began immediately.

This was my 1st time seeing him. I feel like he sat down and listened to my concerns and scheduled tests accordingly to rule out blood clots. He did a X-ray, gave me 2 injections, called in an anti-inflammatory, and sent me over to the hospital for an ultrasound and Doppler. He suggested physical therapy as well.
