Before joining Gonzaba in 2025, Dr. Bermea previously worked at Alamo Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, University Health, and is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA). He served as Chief Resident at one of the largest Family Medicine residency programs in the country, at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center-Permian Basin, in Odessa, TX. He specializes in Family Medicine and Hospital Medicine.
Both healthcare and family are very important to Dr. Bermea. On why he chose Gonzaba Medical Group, Dr. Bermea shares, “Family has always played a big role in my life. When I found a medical group that values family as much as I do, I knew this would be a perfect place for me”.
Dr. Bermea enjoys staying physically active, and the quiet adventures of hunting, especially during the fall and winter seasons.

Dr. Bermea sat and listened to me at my fist appointment. He Read through my history and asked questions. I am appreciative of his care.
Dr.Bermea was genuinely concerned about a mark inside my left ear. He and his staff went far & beyond to schedule an appointment for me with an ENT. I was informed that they were successful to get me an appointment for next week vs afte Thanksgiving. THank you Dr. Bermea & staff for caring to the max!

Great 1st visit with Dr Bermea. I was discouraged because I've to change primary mds a few times but Dr Bermea exceeded my expectations. He listened to my concerns and considered best options for me. I was very pleased with this visit
