Born and raised in Laredo, Texas and growing up in South Texas, Dr. Venegas knew early on the importance of treating patients as family. He joined Gonzaba Medical Group in 2026, sharing, “the term ‘Como Familia’ resonated deeply with me. I understood it to mean treating patients with the same care, respect, and commitment one would offer family.”
Dr. Venegas specializes in Internal Medicine. He taught at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, as a Hospital Medicine Physician and Nocturnal Hospitalist. He was filling in for Dr. Pacheco. He had called and explained test results yesterday. Today I saw him in office for lab results. He was very professional and reassuring in his explanation and in relaying the urgency of a prompt referral.
